The terms and conditions set out below are applicable to all transactions on this website. Please read through them carefully before placing your order and print a copy for future reference. For important information on privacy and data protection, refer to the relevant sections elsewhere on the website.

For your peace of mind, we have set out below all of the information that we think that you need regarding our website. You will find all of the relevant information, from delivery procedure to privacy policy, can be obtained in this section.

If unfortunately you cannot find the information you require, do not panic. If you just send us an email, sales@jff.co.uk, call 02086431173, or fax 02082410977, we will get back to you as soon as possible with whatever enquiry you pose to us. Please note when calling that our opening hours are 9am until 5.00pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Closed Monday.

Satisfaction

Although John F. Ford can never guarantee total satisfaction with the product that your receive, it can make a personal promise that it takes the utmost of care and attention for all of the stock that is carried. In this regard, any product that is purchased will be posted to you in outstanding condition, and with the relevant insurance cover. However, we do realise that problems can arise and we have in place a system of refunding products that you may consider, for whatever reason, unsatisfactory. This is a service provided by us and is not part of, nor does affect, your statutory rights. All the necessary details of such policies can be found below.

Ordering and Pricing

In order to make a purchase, the system is simple; find an item from our online catalogue, place it in the shopping basket, once finished browsing proceed to the checkout, fill in a few details for us.

All of our prices include VAT, but the final price cannot be contractually confirmed by John F. Ford until you have received confirmation of your order. Although we constantly monitor and adjust the prices on the online catalogue, they are potentially subject to change until your confirmation of order. We are not liable to any justification for such changes, but do sincerely hope not to cause any problems or inconvenience if we do shift prices. In the event that any of our items advertised are listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error, error in pricing information from our suppliers, or due to omission on our behalf and any other reasons besides, we shall have the right to refuse to accept any order made by you, or cancel any order received from you based on the incorrect price. This policy applies whether or not your order has been accepted by us. In either case, we reiterate that an order will only be accepted by us as a legally binding contract once the goods ordered by you have been dispatched to you by us.

In certain events, that may be outside of our control, John F. Ford reserves the right to refuse to serve or supply any person for whatever reason, and without need for justification.

When your payment has been authorised, and the stock availability of the product that you wished to order has been checked, you will receive an email confirmation from us. You will also receive an email from Protx but this does not satisfy as a basis for a contractual agreement. Please remember to print and keep this receipt for your records. For our own safety reasons, we can only accept an order when the full payment has been received; up until that point the product remains the property of John F. Ford. Due to the nature of internet shopping, it is important to advise our customers that any order that is made on this site is not a contract for sale between you and John F. Ford. It is only when you receive our email receipt as confirmation of your order, that you do enter into such a contract. There may be peculiar circumstances where we accept an order but subsequently have discovered that an item is unavailable, in such a situation you will be refunded immediately or given the offer of exchange.

If you have entered a multiple order, and only part of the order is mentioned in the email, it is only those items which forms the contract with John F.Ford. You may well receive another email about the remaining items in due course. If you do not, please contact us so that we can trace your order and assess the situation. In the event that the remaining items cannot be found, or that we have no record of you ordering them, you can either re-order them or cancel this part of the order. If you wish to cancel the whole order, you will have to pay for the returning post of those items which have already been sent out. Any technical errors of this kind are the sole responsibility of the purchaser and John F.Ford Ltd is not held liable to any order problems on the website.We also regret to inform you that no verbal agreement between you and any staff member of John F. Ford Ltd. can be accepted as a variation to this procedure, or constitutes a representation on their behalf, even if you have been told that this is so.

We cannot in any way be held liable in the event of the unauthorised use of debit or credit cards. If you believe an order to us to have been illegally made on a card, please contact us immediately.

Refunds

Our internet site only advertises products which we currently have in stock, however, in the unlikely event that we are unable to provide an item after accepting an order, we will refund you payment using the same method in which we received it. Credit cards can, and will be, re-credited, and cheque payments will be refunded by sending a cheque to the billing address. In the event of the cheque payment not being banked before an item is found to be unavailable, the original cheque will be returned. An email confirming any problems, and subsequent refunds, will be sent to you promptly. Expect up to 30 days for a return of this type.

In the case of a part of a multiple order being unavailable, a member of staff will either call or email you to confirm if you wish to receive the remainder of the order, then, using the same method of refunding as above, the original price of the unavailable item(s) will be refunded or the whole order can be cancelled and a full refund obtained. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with the way in which we manage your order or refund, please contact us immediately to solve the issue. Along with this, it must be noted that in no circumstances will John F. Ford Ltd be liable for any additional amounts and all responsibility for refunds lies solely with the purchaser.

Postage and Returns

At the current time, John F. Ford only supplies goods to the United Kingdom, as it is a UK based website. This means that we only accept orders from UK residents for UK mainland delivery. We cannot deliver to the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Eire and BFPO addresses, as this is outside of our remit. All of our orders will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, which offers a secure and fast mode of transportation of our goods to the purchaser.

The charges for this service are as follows:

  • Any order below the value of £500 will incur a delivery charge of £6.00
  • Any order to the value of £500 and above will be delivered free of charge

Our aim is to deliver within 10 working days, and we hope that you do receive your parcel within this time period. However, this is by no means a guarantee, and if for whatever reason the parcel is delayed, we accept no liability for this. Any delays in the delivery process as a result of our own actions occur during additional processing of orders, at the purchaser's demand or wish and subsequent responsibility, such as resizing and altering items, or when there is a special order from you. For this reason, orders with multiple items may on some occasions be delivered separately, with the remaining items following as soon as possible. In this case, we will inform you immediately of any alterations to your order. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause whilst noting that we are not held liable for such occurances. It is worthwhile citing that any items that we do have to send separately will not incur any additional delivery charges.

If any items you have ordered do not arrive within 10 days please contact us by email at sales@jff.co.uk, so we can trace your order. If we believe any delivery will take longer than a period of 10 days when the order is placed, we will notify you by email as soon as possible. Any delay, default or non-deliveryin respect to any instalment will not entitle you to cancel the remainder of your agreement with us.

It should also be noted that we only deliver goods to the address stated and you should make all arrangements necessary to take delivery of the goods whenever they are tendered for delivery. All goods must be signed for by an adult aged 18 years or over on delivery.

We personally recommend that you return the item using the same delivery system that we use; the Royal Mail Special Delivery service (or a similar courier for security reasons). In this way, you can then select the appropriate insurance cover, in case of loss or damage, which is provided by Royal Mail or the chosen courier. It is highly recommended that you insure the item at it's full purchase price. Despite the fact that we wish to help you as much as possible in the return of any items, in no circumstances will John F. Ford accept liability for loss or damage of a returning item. All postal costs of returning items and insurance cover lies with the consumer, and unless we have arranged for collection, John F. Ford will not pay for the returning postal costs, regardless of whether or not we paid for the outward postage.

Once the item has been received by us, a prompt refund will ensue, providing that it is returned in it's original condition with the enclosed Order Number. If this is not done, we are unable to fully guarantee a refund on the item you purchased. If possible, please return your item in the original packaging. Please refer to pricing above for details of recrediting.

Cancellations of orders

Orders that are cancelled after your goods are dispatched by us will be subject to a handling fee which will reasonably cover re-stocking and administrative costs. When you receive the cancelled package, return it to us straight away and unopened, preferably using the same courier company. You will have to pay for the return post and insurance cover, as well as be fully responsible for any damage or loss caused when the package is returned. Again, under no circumstances are John F.Ford responsible for return postage.

Damaged or incorrect goods

When you receive your package from us, you should check it immediately for any physical defaults or damage. If you find any damage that was not explained when you ordered the item, you must inform us and return the item(s) within 28 days of delivery. This will enable us to claim on the relevant Mail insurance, and ensure that you will get a full refund. If you do not do this within the prescribed time limit, John F. Ford Ltd. will not be able to offer a refund to you.

If in the extremely unlikely event you receive an incorrect item, return it within 7 days to receive a full refund or to have the original item sent to you. We will fully refund you for the cost of the return post.

Please refer to the section marked 'Returns' for further details of how to return your item to us. In specific regard to damaged goods, you have the option to either have your item replaced or to order a different, alternative item. In the latter case, if the item is of greater value than the original purchase, we will require additional payment. Conversely, if the item is of less value that the original item purchased, then the difference will be refunded. Replacements for the original item are reliant on current stock availability, and there is no guarantee that any particular item will be in stock. John F. Ford apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you wish to receive a refund for an item which is damaged whilst in your possession, and through no fault or cause of John F. Ford Ltd., repair costs will be deducted from the refund you have pursued. John F. Ford Ltd has a detailed knowledge of the stock it keeps, and has it's own workshop for repairs. Therefore, we will not be held liable to any damage caused to an item by a third party; for example, damage to a ring during resizing performed by a third party. The purchaser should be advised that, as we have our own workshop, we will be able to spot bogus claims for refunds, and will not act lightly in such an event.

Hopefully, we will be able to deal with your problem within a few minutes on the telephone, but, if it is more complex, please write to us at the address given above. We will then get back to you straight away to deal with the issue, by whatever format you desire to be contacted by.

Warranty

John F. Ford handles goods which are both new and second hand. Therefore, for all of the new goods we carry, especially for watches, you should refer to the manufacturer's policy on warranty. In the case of used items John F. Ford normally offers a one year limited warranty, although this does necessarily apply to all items . If you are unsure of any aspect of John F. In any which way they are caused, John F. Ford Ltd shall not be liable for any damages connected with the use of this site . It is impossible to offer a total guarantee that this site will be free of any technical errors, despite the best of our efforts and attempts to keep it up to date on a regular basis. The use of this site by yourself, the customer, will be seen as an acknowledgement that you take complete responsibility for all the costs on servicing and repairs of equipment that is used in conjunction with this site. If you are unsatisfied with any area of our site, or know of any faults or problems that you think we should be made aware of, please contact us immediately by email (sales@jff.co.uk), telephone (02086431173), or fax (02082410977). However, please be aware that the only legal action you have is to stop using our website.

Indemnity

You must be aware that you are solely responsible for the use to which you put our services and all other information that you receive and obtain from our website and all warranties, conditions, undertakings, representations and terms whether expressed or implied, statutory or otherwise, are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law*.Except in the case of liability for death or personal injury arising out of negligence, we disclaim and exclude to the fullest extent permitted by law all liability for any loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever arising including consequential, special, incidential, or any other indirect loss or damage. Our liability to you in all circumstances shall not exceed the price which you paid for the goods.

Copyright

We do give you permission to electronically copy and print in hard copy format any specific section of this website, for the sole purpose of placing an order with us or for using this website to shop online. In these circumstances, anything that you download and print from our website is for your personal use only. Any other use of any of the materials that is presented on our website including modification, publication, distribution or re-publication in any format whatsoever without having obtained our written permission is strictly prohibited.

Alteration of Service or Amendments to the Conditions

We reserve the right to make changes to our website, policies, and these Terms and Conditions at any time. You will be subject to the policies and conditions of these terms in force at the time that you use the website, or that you order goods from us, unless any change to those policies or these conditions is required to be made by law or government authority (in which case it will apply to orders previously placed by you). If any of these conditions is deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that condition will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining condition.

*Any contract of sale entered into between you and John F. Ford Ltd., and your use of this specific website, shall be governed by and shall be contrued in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and subsequently, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales. Those who choose to access the site do so at their own risk and on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws.
